Live at Folk Cottage

Michael Chapman

Live at Folk Cottage, Cornwall 1967

Previously unreleased. Recorded just eight months after "turning pro" this is the earliest known recordings of the British guitar hero and troubadour - a collection of Michael's own instrumentals and covers of blues tracks and standards that show a unique insight into the the emergence of the sound and style we know today.

The seminal British guitar hero's earliest known recordings - recorded live at the iconic venue at the heart of the British folk movement.

The story of how Michael Chapman turned pro as a musician, walking into a Cornish pub and offering to play a gig in return for shelter from the rain outside is both well known and well told.  These previously lost recordings catch up with our hero of the piece some eight months later as he played a show at the Folk Cottage, Mitchell near Newquay in Cornwall on Good Friday, 24th March 1967.

TreeHouse44 has worked closely with Michael Chapman, being allowed full access to his private archive, to produce a unique album that captures the earliest stages in the career of this phenomenal artist.

Available now as limited edition vinyl double album, CD and download.

"The album I never new I'd made!"  Michael Chapman
